  • Purchase a security system from us, we will have access to your footage for a short period of time for the purposes of testing.

 

Although not in our usual practice, we may also receive your data indirectly if one of our partner organisations refers your booking to us.

 

 

3.   How will we use your data?

 

AV Fanatics collects your personal data so that we can provide our services to you for various purposes including:

·         To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our service

·         To monitor the usage of our service

·         To provide information on critical equipment updates including security, bios and general services updates

·         When you purchase a security system from us we will initially have live access to your cameras. Once this initial testing period is finished, we actively encourage you to change your password so we can no longer access your cameras, unless you request us to do so again.

 

In some circumstances, we will share your personal data with our partner organisations so that they may be able to complete the service you requested from us. For example, we may share the information you provide to us with our partner electricians so they can complete your installation. We do not pass on any personal information to third party marketing companies and do not under any circumstances sell personal data.

 

In addition to the above, we undertake such day-to-day measures that are necessary for our services to you, such as bookkeeping, accounting, billing, fulfilling tax obligations and maintaining our website security.

 

4.   How do we store your data?

 

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

 

In order to keep your personal data secure, we have chosen a secure web hosting service, Squarespace. Squarespace is SSL certificate encrypted.

 

Squarespace collect and store all data on our behalf. We do not store anything on personal/business computers, back servers or cloud storage. All data, including all personal data is stored by Squarespace.  For example, payment information such as credit card details are collected and used by Stripe, Squarespace’s online payment gateway. Generally speaking, we do not use paper records. If we happen to need paper records containing your personal data, we will securely destroy these paper documents after use, retaining the electronic records until the retention period is completed.

 

We will keep your personal data for a period of no more than 7 years, depending on the type of data. Most data is deleted 1 year after your service has been completed. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by securely destroying any paper copies, electronic copies and backups.

 

5.   Marketing

 

Whenever you are asked to fill in a form on our website, there will be a box that you can click to indicate that you do or do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
